Patient Advocacy works with the goal of educating health care providers, community-based organizations, patient safety organizations, government, and caregivers about improving communication and understanding in the health care setting. Board and Officers of SAVE THE PATIENT represent the patient through its participation on medical advisory councils, legislative and governmental meetings, in the media and television program, speaking and writing about the medical errors, health literacy and health infection prevention.
Community Outreach informs and educates patient advocates, health providers, and government to assist those individuals who need assistance in their native languages in communities where English is not the primary language using the SAVE THE PATIENT signature tool, the Health Caring Card in Spanish, Chinese, and Polish.
Educational Seminars attends workshops with medical advisors and governmental bodies to inform and educate about effective communication skills that inform and empower the public regarding patients' rights, medical procedures, and treatment options.

Health Caring Cards are laminated cards containing pertinent questions that should be asked of doctors, surgeons, hospitals, and prescription drug providers. These relevant questions have been suggested by experienced physicians who are affiliated with SAVE THE PATIENT and are likely to enhance a patient's understanding of any medical encounter. The questions appear in English on the front of the card, with Spanish, Polish, Korean, Chinese or Vietnamese on the reverse side.
Additional languages - including Braille - will be added as increased donations and
funding are received. These Health Caring Cards are free to the public.
